Chiltern Park Weekend 25 / 26 June
After all the recent bad weather, it was a relief when the forecast for Saturday showed showers rather than a continuous downpour! On that basis, we launched from Bicester, dodging the showers to overfly the Tiger’s birthplace at Cowley on the way to Chiltern Park.
A poignant flypast of the Cowley site where over 2000 Tiger Moths were built during WWII, and what is now the BMW Mini factory
A lovely day spent with nice people, including ‘Singapore Girl’ who travelled all the way from the Far East to fly the Tiger with us :-) We were even joined by ‘Bob’, a bouncy orange-suited character who emerges at Chiltern Park from time to time to raise funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance!
Thanks to Ken Brennan for some great pictures of the weekend… his ‘reward’ was to fly with us to Chiltern Park on Sunday in the CAP10. Thanks to everyone at Chiltern Park on both days - it really is a fun place to operate from!
Our next event is the Flywheel Festival at Bicester Heritage next weekend, offering 20 minute trial flying lessons in two lovely Tiger Moths. The Beech 18 will also be there on static display and we’re offering a free Tiger Moth flight to anyone whose photograph of any of our aeroplanes at Flywheel makes it to our website! Please check our Facebook page and Twitter feed for more detail of the competition and for the latest news and deals from Finest Hour!
